David Middleton

David is a retired diplomat with thirty years’ experience at home and overseas on Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and Europe. His principal focus was political change, conflict prevention, good governance and anti-corruption, and the growth of threats to UK national interests and international order. He worked closely with colleagues across government and regularly interacted with host government, US, European and Commonwealth civilian and military officials and with international organisations and NGOs. David has served on the Boards of private sector companies advising clients doing business in emerging markets on political risk, the safety of staff, and compliance with UK and US anti-bribery legislation and UNSC and EU sanctions. David has been a UK government Stabilisation Adviser since 2017 and is a Board member of two UK charities.
