Peter Millett is a retired British diplomat will a wide range of international experience including in the Middle East. He served as British Ambassador to Libya from 2015 to 2018, as Ambassador to Jordan from 2011 to 2015 and as High Commissioner to Cyprus from 2005 to 2010. In Libya he played a role in supporting the UN’s efforts to negotiate and then implement a new political agreement. He engaged effectively with all the key political, military, economic and social actors. He played a similar influential role in his other postings. In London, he was Director of Security for the FCO from 2002 to 2005. Earlier in his career he had diplomatic postings in Venezuela, Qatar, Brussels and Athens.
